STARS Water Center Welcomes the Diplomatic Delegation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

Today, STARS Water Center – Tra Vinh University was honored to welcome the Diplomatic Delegation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to visit the Center, tour its practical models, and discuss development orientations in the fields of water resources, water treatment, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development.

The delegation included Mr. Rick Slettenhaar – Deputy Consul General, Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam; Ms. Ylva Veldhuis – Advisor on Environment and Water, Netherlands Enterprise Agency; Ms. Merel van der Ven – First Secretary for Economic Affairs, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam; and Mr. Tran Huy Hung – Senior Economic Officer, Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City.

During the visit, the delegation toured the practical models currently being implemented by STARS Water Center. These models focus on applied solutions in water treatment, water resource management, water reuse, community education, and climate change adaptation in the Mekong Delta. Through the visit, the delegation gained further insights into the Center’s practical approach to integrating research, training, technology transfer, and community service.

The visit provided an important opportunity for STARS Water Center to introduce its development orientation, professional expertise, and practical application models in the fields of water and environment. It also served as an opportunity for the Center to strengthen connections, exchange experiences, and expand cooperation with Dutch partners in areas of mutual interest.

The Netherlands is a country with extensive experience in water resource management, climate change adaptation, flood control, and the development of sustainable water-related solutions. Therefore, the visit of the Diplomatic Delegation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands held practical significance in promoting professional exchange, strengthening mutual understanding, and opening up further opportunities for future cooperation between the parties.
